About frank speciale

Frank was a wonderful son, brother, and friend.  He touched the lives of everyone that knew him.  Frank carried himself with a quiet confidence and made you happy that you knew him.  He was a man of his word and could always be counted on to do the right the thing. Frank loved athletics and competition. He played soccer, softball, golf and many other sports on a regular basis. Frank was usually the best athlete on the field no matter the competition. He would beat you at bowling just as easily as he would fly by you on the soccer field.

But his athletic ability did not define him, his love of family and friends did. Frank never said no to a favor and was always happy to help a friend in need. And Frank had many friends in need! He would do these chores with a smile on his face and no expectation of a return favor. Frank was one of a kind.

He also loved children and spent a great deal of his free time coaching youth sports. He donated his time freely and loved watching the kids he coached play the game the right way. Frank taught them how to win but more importantly he taught them good sportsmanship and how to be good people.

On February 15th, 2007 Frank was once again pursuing an interest he loved and that was soccer. While on the field of play Frank suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and collapsed to the ground. Almost instantly Frank had emergency care as one of the other players was a trained paramedic. Frank's heart was in fibrillation however, and what he needed was defibrillation to save his life, CPR was not enough.

Frank died that day and his family and friends suffered a great loss. But as Our Mission stated we are going to turn tragedy into triumph. It is the goal of the Frankie Foundation to place an Automated External Defibrillator in each and every Park and Athletic Field throughout South Florida. We are proud to honor Frank's name with this worthwhile endeavor.
