Our Mission |
The Frankie Foundation is dedicated to the goal of turning tragedy into triumph. A dear friend, Frank Speciale, was taken in the prime of his life by heart disease. Frankie lived life to it's fullest and The Frankie Foundation's mission is to help others do the same.
We will seek to accomplish our mission in two ways: First, by raising money to purchase and place Automatic External Defibrillator's (AED's) in parks and athletic fields throughout South Florida. An AED is the only way to treat most sudden cardiac arrests and their placement near athletic fields and parks will save lives.
Second, by offering an annual scholarship in Frank's name to a local student that exemplifies Frank's selfless nature and love of athletics.

ABOUT AED'S

Each year at least 164,000 Americans experience sudden cardiac arrest(SCA) outisde of a hospital. CPR and early defibrillation with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) more than double a victim's chance of survival. In fact early defibrillation with CPR is the only way to restore the SCA victim's heart rythm to normal.
